PRESENTATION 3: Emotional/ Behavioural/Learning Disorders in Children and Youths
-Overview of the effect of emotional/behavioural problems
-The most common disorders outlined, Conduct Disorder, A.D.H.D, Autism, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
-Each disorder in more depth, red flags, symptoms and insight
-How and why some disorders occur
-Which learning challenges can affect behaviour

-Aspects of the physical environment
-Aspects of the interactive environment
-Group collaboration: identify aspects, what and why in your classrooms and present ideas
-Understanding the psychological evidence-based reasons of the what and why and how it could change the learning experience in your classroom tenfold

-Why do we discourage play after grade 2
-How we can incorporate play in lessons

-Ideas to engage students and enhance lesson plans
-Importance of Collaboration- getting ideas from other teachers

This is a 45min session with video clip- teachers and senior staff
PRESENTATION 9: How Psychology has Helped Children and Teachers in Schools
-The scientific tools that have given us critical insight, which ones and how
-What insight have they shown us
-What can we learn from this and how to utilise this information
-How education should move forward.
This is 45min session, mainly for school governors, principals and senior staff to understand the value of bringing a psychologist into school and regularly educating their staff with up-to-date information
Also available are mini-talk sessions:
-Building self-esteem, (20mins)
-Nutrition, (20mins)
-How does our overtly-sexual society affect our daughters, (20mins)
-What about the empowerment of our boys, (20mins)
All the above sessions can be mixed and blended to suit the audience and the time constraints but these mostly benefit parents at parents teachers meetings and some can be adapted for childrens' Boys and Girls Day
All presentations have handouts, which I supply the original for you to copy prior to the presentation
